Spoof erotic fiction author Pamela DeMenthe is returning from a pandemic-induced hiatus and bringing her new show to Preston.
eVULVAlution is a time-travelling prehistoric romp set in Hull – an interactive journey through time, complete with Neanderthal orgies and local interest references.
It follows DeMenthe’s latest attempt at literary success in a performance described as ‘character comedy with extra sauce’.
In eVULVAlution, DeMenthe’s character has suffered an acute case of writer’s block and looks to the audience
to provide her with a creative laxative.
Pamela DeMenthe is played by Manchester-based comedy actor Jenny May Morgan who has reprised her role
as the erotic fiction writer after the huge success of debut show Sticky Digits.

Dementhe, who came to Preston’s Ham and Jam with Sticky Digits in 2018, said: “I’d say audiences should expect a wild and primal ride of time-traveling mayhem. Of course, arousal is the main aim, but I also want it to be educational; teaching people about history, science and, in many ways, themselves.
“I’m also a firm believer in widening your audience appeal as much as possible by mixing genres. I knew that if I combined time travel, Neanderthal orgies, Hull local interest with office furniture I would appeal to sci-fi enthusiasts, paleontologists, the north, and those in the market for high-quality home office furniture.”
eVULVAlution has been developed with and commissioned by The Lowry. It’s being brought to Preston by Lancashire-based promotion company Enjoy the Show, the people behind Lancashire Fringe Festival and Lancashire Photography Festival.
eVULVAlution is at The Ferret on Tuesday 25 April. Doors are at 7pm, and the show starts at 8pm.
Tickets are available from Skiddle.
