Preston firefighters have battled a blaze involving a heavy goods vehicle.

Two fire engines attended the scene at around 2pm today (Thursday 27 April) in Leyland Road.

Crews used one hose reel, one hose reel jet, and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

The road was closed as firefighters spent around three hours at the incident.

The closure was extended due to a spill of contaminants.
