A Fulwood dentist is offering free children’s checks to try to address the dental crisis.
Dentistry by Cure Clinics at Eastway Hub is offering a range of resources to help ensure dental care is accessible to the local community.
It follows the release of a report on the health of 5-year-olds in England, showing 38.7 per cent of children in the North West had some level of decay, compared to 29.3 per cent nationally.
In addition, Bupa Dental Care recently announced plans to sell its Fulwood dental practice as part of a series of national changes. Bupa blamed the move on “the national shortage of dentists and increased costs caused by inflation”.
As well as offering free children’s checks for kids in the PR and FY postcodes across the Easter break, the clinic has made children’s essential dental care free with an adult membership.

Dr. Chris Ball, Principal Dentist at Dentistry by Cure Clinics, said: “We understand the severity of the dental crisis in Lancashire, and we want to do our part to help combat it. Our mission is to make dental care accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation or circumstances.
“By providing free healthy mouth checks for children and making essential dental care more accessible for our local community, we hope to raise awareness of the importance of oral hygiene and help prevent further barriers to access dentistry.”
The clinic is open seven days per week, offering emergency appointments, early morning, and late-night appointments.
