A book treasure hunt is taking place in Penwortham over the Easter holidays.
Books are being hidden every day, with clues posted to the Penwortham Easter Book Treasure Hunt Facebook group.
The event is designed to promote reading for pleasure to children while they are away from school.
Organiser Natalie Dix, who works in partnership with children’s book publisher Usborne, said: “I contacted some local businesses in and around Penwortham with this idea and received an amazing response. A number of businesses have sponsored 275 books.
“The event is absolutely free for everyone to take part. The only thing people need to do is join the Facebook group.
“Parents and carers with children can go to the group each day to look at the clues and then go and find the books. They can leave these books or re-hide them for other children.”
