Plans for a new takeaway in the city centre have been submitted to Preston City Council.
The proposal in 15 Cannon Street, seeks approval for change of use from a retail shop to a hot food takeaway (Sui Generis).
The vacant building used to be a pharmacy specialising in all things cannabis called ‘Cannabliss Dispensary’.
Plans include the installation of an external flue vent pipe to the back of the building, to serve the kitchen that would be located in the basement.
The site is located in the Winckley Conservation Area, and forms part of a row of terraced properties along the western side of the street.

The front side of the proposed building would remain unchanged, while alterations are put forward for the basement and ground level such as upgrading the existing ceilings on both levels, and installation of internal fire doors.
If plans are approved, existing access from Cannon Street would remain the same.
On behalf of the applicant, Ms Sushma Gurung, architects A&T Architectural Designs said: “The exercise explores the possibility to protect the buildings existence by offering a new sustainable function.
“Vacant buildings are exposed to vandalism therefore it will affect the local streetscape and heritage.”
