The new Extra Care scheme – Jubilee Gardens – is due to start on site at West Paddock in Leyland later this year and will welcome the first residents early in 2025.
Jubilee Gardens will bring the first Extra Care scheme to South Ribble to offer supported living for over 55s enabling them to live in their own homes for as long as possible.
The development of 75 apartments will also have onsite facilities including a café, hair salon and medical services.

Councillor Paul Foster, Leader of South Ribble Borough Council said: “We identified the need for investment in this type of housing for South Ribble due to the ageing population and following consultation have developed a scheme to offer this.
“We want people to be able to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible and this extra-care scheme helps to achieve this.

“Jubilee Gardens has been designed in a sustainable way and will include improved pedestrian links to Leyland Town Centre.
“The Jubilee Gardens scheme is part of our planned investment programme for the borough and will be delivered and managed by the council to offer much needed supported living for South Ribble residents.”
Local residents were consulted during the design process with the opportunity to view and discuss the plans. The feedback included support for the scheme design, energy saving measures, landscaping and green space on the site.
