The Green Man at Inglewhite is introducing a new measure to reduce restaurant no-shows on key days and bank holidays.
After a large number of table bookings went to waste on Sunday 19 March, which marked Mother’s Day, the country pub has decided to take deposits for reservations moving forward.
A spokesperson for the food and drinks pub expressed dismay at the recent turn of events on social media: “We are sad to have to do this but moving forwards for key days such as Motherās Day and bank holidays we will need to begin taking deposits for bookings.
“We have turned tables away due to the amount of bookings we have had for today and unfortunately some of those large table bookings have not turned up without getting in contact.
“We are an independent, destination, family run business. Some of our team have given up their Motherās Day so others can enjoy theirs.”
