Environment Agency North West is investigating Recycling Lives compliance with the environmental permits at the waste facility at the time of a major fire earlier this month.
Firefighters were called to the fire at the facility based in Longridge Road, Ribbleton, on Sunday 12 March after 8am.
Investigations are underway to find out the cause of the fire.
A spokesperson for Environment Agency North West said: “We continue working with Lancashire Fire and Rescue following a fire at Recycling Lives in Preston, on Sunday 12 March 2023.
“Our officers are investigating compliance with the environmental permits at the site at the time of the fire.
“Environmental incidents can be reported to the Environment Agency’s incident hotline on 0800807060.”

Residents near to the fire in Grimsargh and Ribbleton reported the large smoke plume caused by the fire left them unable to be in their homes throughout Sunday.
A spokesperson for Recycling Lives previously told Blog Preston: “We’d like to thank Lancashire Fire Service for its prompt and professional response to the incident at our Preston recycling plant.
“An investigation into what caused the fire is underway.
“Since this investigation is ongoing, we cannot comment further at this time.”
