Another triumph for the Labour Party in recent months as it secures a third by-election.
On Thursday 9 February, Ashley Dalton, representing the Labour Party, was duly elected as Member of Parliament for West Lancashire.
Ashley Dalton comfortably received 14,068 votes, in comparison to Conservative candidate Mike Prendergast sitting in second position with 5,742 votes.

Due to cold conditions last week, voter turnout at polling stations was less than 32 per cent.
Ms Dalton who works part time at a local LGBT charity said it is time for a new government as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak ‘does not have a mandate to lead’.
In a celebratory speech at Burscough Racquet and Fitness Centre, she said: “I think the message that has come tonight from the British people is that time is up for this conservative government and we do need a general election.”
