South Ribble residents have received scam calls from individuals claiming to work with the borough council.
The individuals are claiming they will replace unsafe loft insulations with new ones in residents homes.
South Ribble Borough Council issued a statement to testify against the scheme and gave a scam warning.

A spokesperson for the Council said: “We have been made aware of a scam that is currently circulating around the borough.
“This scam is in relation to individuals calling residents claiming their loft insulation isn’t safe and needs to be replaced.
“We are also led to believe that the scammers are claiming to be working with the Council.
“We can confirm this isn’t the case and would never contact you regarding an issue with safety in this way or without verification that we are from the Council.

“There is no issues with mineral wool used for loft insultation and is still widely used as it meets building regulations.
“We are asking residents to be aware and not to give any personal information to these scammers.
