A Friargate pub is hosting an anti-Valentine’s Day party.

Northern Way has a fun-filled night planned with games and prizes, plus live entertainment from drag queen host Annabelle Lecter.

The event follows a revamp at the pub in October last year, and will be the first for new managers, Amber and Tom.

Amber Taverns Area Manager, Ashley Roberts, said: “The refurbishment was to help combat the side effects from all the horrendous roadworks that have been going on outside the pub for the past three years.

“Tom and Amber have joined the company and are wanting to shake up the pub. This huge event will see them start their management with an explosion.”

Explaining the reason behind the event, Ashley said: “Lots of places are for couples, especially on Valentine’s Day.

“We want to be the place to go for everyone else, both those who are alone by choice and those who are alone and looking for someone.”

The anti-Valentine’s Day party in on at Northern Way from 7.30pm on Tuesday 14 February.
