In celebration of Allan Atkinson, who was known for his work at the iconic Preston record shop Action Records, a memorial concert is set to take place at The Continental on Saturday 8 April.
Allan died in November last year following a short illness.
Following the news of his passing, countless tributes rolled in all over social media detailing how much of a character Allan was and how important he was to not only the Preston record store, but to Preston in general.
Action Records was established in 1979, and started off as a stall in Blackpool however, they soon moved and opened a site on Church Street in Preston, where they remain still to this day.
Allan was key to the launch of the Preston music scene landmark.

Performing at the gig are Dark Americana Rock band The Hellfire Preachers, Southern Country Rock outfit The Violet Hours, Preston Post Punkers Ginnel, and singer songwriter Jackson Ward.
All proceeds from the gig are set to go to St Catherine’s Hospice.

Doors open to the show at 7pm and is expected to be a night of celebration for the Preston legend.
