Two teenagers charged with robbery in Ashton-on-Ribble

Two teenagers have been charged with robbery following an incident in Preston.

Officers were called to the filling station at Morrisons on Mariners Way, on Sunday (10 January) evening to reports that two boys were threatened with a knife and a bicycle taken from them.

Police enquiries led to two arrests being made in the Ashton-on-Ribble area.

Following consultations with the Crown Prosecution Service, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old were both charged with robbery, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

The 16-year-old was also charged with an offence of criminal damage, while the 15-year-old has been charged with handling stolen goods.

Both have been remanded, the 16-year-old to appear before Preston Magistrates Court and the 15-year-old before Preston Youth Court.
