Preston woman charged after Christmas presents stolen from elderly man

A Preston woman has been charged after a man in his 90s was victim of a distraction burglary in the St Matthews area last month.

Christmas presents were stolen from the house during the burglary, which happened on Thursday 22 December.

Preston Police’s target team arrested 43-year-old Paula Gardner on Thursday (19 January). The following day she was charged with burglary of a dwelling house and breaching bail conditions.

Gardner, of Sedgwick Street, has been remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates Court.
