Man charged after 83-year-old man punched and robbed in Preston

A man has been charged after a pensioner was robbed in Preston.

The incident happened on Friday 6 January, when an 83-year-old man was punched in the face in Walker Street and then had property stolen.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on Monday (16 January) and Patrick Jackson, 51, of Lancaster Road North, Preston, has since been charged with robbery.

He was due to appear at Preston Magistratesā€™ Court on Thursday (19 January).

A 48-year-old man, of no fixed address, who was arrested previously on suspicion of robbery, has since been released no further action.
