More overnight road closures have been announced as part of the Preston Western Distributor works this January.

In order for roadworks to progress, the M55 is closed in both directions from Monday 9 January to Friday 13 January.

The closures are taking place between junctions 1 and 3 from 9pm to 6am, with the first cone placed at 8pm.

The M6 junction 32 slip road (southbound) will also remain closed during this period.

In mid-January, overnight closures on Blackpool Road and Riversway will be enforced across two weeks.

From Monday 16 January to Friday 20 January, westbound (Preston to Blackpool) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

Eastbound (Blackpool to Preston) will be closed from Monday 23 January to Friday 27 January between 9pm and 6am.

People are advised to follow the diversion routes pictured above and to plan their journeys ahead of time.
