A Defend the Right to Strike rally is set to take place on the Flag Market.

The event on Wednesday 1 February has been organised by Preston and South Ribble TUC and Lancashire Area TUC as part of a national day of action.

With close to half a million workers on strike tomorrow, it’s the biggest day of industrial action in a decade.

The TUC-led action comes in the wake of anti-strikes law being passed in the House of Commons on Monday.

MPs voted 315 to 246 – a majority 69 – in favour, and the proposals will now face scrutiny in the House of Lords.
