A Preston darts fan has launched a new business based on his passion for the sport.

Steve Eaves started up specialist darts store Red Rose Darts online just over a month ago.

Steve’s ambition is to open a retail unit in the city in the future, but as a first step, he is this week running a pop up shop at the Beer Box in Bamber Bridge.

Taking place on Thursday (29 December), the event will see over 50 different styles of darts for sale plus dartboards, mats, cases, flights, shafts and other accessories.

Steve said: “Part of the uniqueness of the event is that everyone is more than welcome to try before they buy. “We will be setting up multiple dartboards to accommodate this and players can try as many sets of darts as they would like.

“If anyone is new to darts or has been inspired by the ongoing Darts World Championship, we will be on hand to give guidance and advice.

“I will also be running fun, free to enter competitions throughout the day, with various mystery prizes on offer. My hope is the event will be a little festival of darts.”

The pop up shop will take place at the Beer Box on Thursday 29 December from 1pm to 9pm. The bar will be open for the duration, serving a selection of craft ales, lagers and soft drinks.

Steve added: “Pubs have had a difficult time recently, so we hope as many people as possible are able to attend. It’s a great way to have some fun and to support two small businesses based in Preston.”
