Morrisons is helping food banks and community groups this festive period with the Christmas Giving Tree.
Customers can donate £1, £2 or £5 to their local store’s nominated food bank, by picking up a bauble hanging on the tree and taking it to the checkouts along with their shopping.
The Kirkham store is donating funds to the Trussell Trust and Fylde Foodbank, and is encouraging customers to donate so no one is left behind.
Morrisons Kirkham community champion, Rad Tingle, told Blog Preston how the cost of living crisis is affecting people’s enjoyment during this busy period.

Rad said: “With the upcoming Christmas everybody knows about the prices going up.
“It’s very difficult to find any money to make it the perfect Christmas.
“Everybody is struggling these days but we would like to help as many people as possible to enjoy Christmas, especially for families with children.”
The funding initiative stops at the end of December.
