Preston residents are preparing for below freezing temperatures after The Met Office issued a level three ‘cold weather alert’.

There is a high chance for severe and icy weather conditions from 6pm on Wednesday 7 December, to 9am on Monday 12 December in parts of England.

This comes into force, as air from the Arctic spreads south across the country including the potential for widespread frosts.
