A community project has turned New Longton into a giant advent calendar.
Local businesses, residents and churches have come together to create an advent trail around the village.
Running from 1 to 24 December, each night a different location is lighting up their window with a Christmassy display.
The first window was at Hope Methodist Church, with the last one being set for All Saints’ Church.
Laura Kochanski, PA to the Vicar of New Longton, said: “We’ll celebrate on Christmas Eve with our community, sharing mulled wine, mince pies and sweets for the children.
“The project aims to raise money for Derian House Children’s Hospice, and we will be collecting donations along the whole of the trail.”
