Three arts groups are meeting in Preston this week.
Preston Art Society meets the first and third Wednesday of the month at St Margaret’s Parish Centre, in Ingol, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
The meetings are a great opportunity to meet other creatives, learn new skills, listen to talks, and watch demonstrations and there are opportunities to exhibit.
On Wednesday 16 November, the meeting features a talk by artist and photographer Jill Reidy. It’s just £5 for visitors. For further information go to the Preston Art Society website.
The Brewtime Collective, a network of independent artists and arts organisers in Preston, is hosting a meet-up for local creatives on Thursday 17 November at The Larder in Lancaster Road.
The get-together starts at 6pm, and from 6.30pm there will be a short presentation by Sarah McCue, Community Funding Officer at Lancashire County Council, about the new Lancashire Cultural and Sport Fund. There will also be a chance to voice your opinions and concerns about arts and culture in Preston.
Opinion: Lack of arts venues is leaving the people of Preston without cultural engagement
This is a free event and there will be the opportunity to buy food and drinks from The Larder. Book your free ticket on Eventbrite.
Also on Thursday 17 November, The Artistry House in Winckley Square will be opening its doors for an informal gathering of like-minded creatives.
The house will be open from 5.30pm until 9.30pm for people to go along and meet. The evening will also feature wine tasting.
Tickets are limited and are available via Eventbrite in exchange for a donation, which will go to The Foxton Centre.
