Preston City Council are running a trial on collecting bins differently across Preston, except in rural areas.
The two week recycling collections trial began on Monday 7 November.
The council will collect red and yellow lidded bins for recycling in different vehicles, at separate times during the normal scheduled collection day.
Residents are told to wait until after 4pm to report a missed bin.

A spokesperson for Preston City Council said: “The recycling collections trial is taking place across Preston, except in rural areas, and as a result some of the waste crew are walking up to 15 miles each day.
“As many residents are now recycling more items, the focus of the collection operation is shifting towards efficiencies.
“If made permanent, this change in arrangements and moving away from using the split-sides vehicles will save tax payers money in the longer term and allow continued growth of the service in the future.”
