The application by Cassidy + Asthon, seeking approval for a new place of worship situated on land to the south of D’Urton Lane, has sparked a mix of responses within the Broughton community, since plans were submitted in 2021.

A decision from the government will be issued on or before Monday 30 January, 2023, as to what will happen with the site.

Earlier this year in February Preston City Council approved plans for the ‘Brick Veil Mosque’ to go ahead.
Soon after that, on Tuesday 5 April, the government called-in the planning application for the building.
