Man slashed with blade in Avenham Park robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was ‘slashed’ during a robbery in Avenham Park.

The victim – a man in his 50s – was walking near to the playground area at around 7am on Monday 14 November.

He was approached by a group of three or four males who stole his mobile phone and slashed him with a blade.

He was treated in hospital for his injuries, which aren’t thought to be life-threatening.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We want to hear from anyone who was in Avenham Park and the surrounding areas at around 7am on Monday morning. Did you witness anyone acting suspiciously in the area?”
