A crash is causing gridlock in Grimsargh and the surrounding area.

It’s understood a van and motorbike have collided in Preston Road near Grimsargh Village Hall.

The incident happened earlier this afternoon (Tuesday 22 November).

The road was closed in both directions.

At around 4pm a Preston Police spokesperson said the closure would be in place ‘for the foreseeable’.

Preston Road reopened around 7.15pm on Tuesday – with Bluebell Way and Eastway heavily congested as a result of the crash.

Many motorists reported being delayed by more than an hour on journeys during the Tuesday rush hour.
