A man believed to be in his 50s has been found dead off the Green in Ribbleton.

Police received a report on Wednesday 23 November, of a body being found in the woods.

A police presence has been in Whitmore Drive and the Green since Wednesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police told Blog Preston: “We were called at shortly after 1pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 November) to a report that the body of a man had been found in the woods off the Green in Ribbleton.

‘We attended and enquiries are ongoing to confirm the identity of the man, believed to be in his 50s, and to trace his next of kin.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, although at this time there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
