A photographer from Preston is set to exhibit a collection of images taken around in and about the city.
Lisa Brown’s second exhibition at The Larder, will feature large scale images of Moor Park Avenue, Miller Park, Winckley Square and Miller Arcade, as well as images of Preston North End’s Deepdale stadium.
The artwork will be put on display from Saturday 22 October to Saturday 3 December, and 25 per cent of each framed print sold from the exhibition will go towards supporting The Larder’s community project Kids in the Kitchen.
Lisa has been photographing Preston for a number of years but only relatively recently exhibiting and sharing her work on social media.

She said: “I love exploring Preston and despite it being a relatively small city there is always something new to photograph. I started taking photographs in Preston about fourteen years ago with a little pocket-sized camera.
“I’d just returned to Preston after fifteen years away and it struck me how many beautiful parks and buildings there were. A little while later I started sharing my work on a personal blog.
“A few years ago, I gave a friend a framed photograph for her birthday, another friend asked for a print and it just went from there, before I knew it I was holding my first exhibition at The Larder.
“Now I sell prints, postcards and calendars to people all over the world. I love hearing people’s memories when they buy prints.”

Lisa’s second exhibition, entitled Preston, includes images that have been scaled up to A2 size and larger.
The photographer said: “I receive requests for large scale images and I thought it would be nice to centre this exhibition on just that.
“Social media is fantastic for sharing your work and receiving feedback, people are so lovely, but I thought it would be nice to print images up large and frame them, rather than people look at the images on their phones.
“I love to capture those special moments, when the weather is really atmospheric and you can feel something in the air. I try to create beautiful images that people can connect with.”

As well as taking images of Preston, Lisa has photographed traders on Preston Markets and taken lots of photographs of events and celebrations at the school where she works. She also enjoys interviewing creatives and artists for Blog Preston.
Lisa, said: “I love writing and photography. I like to concentrate on the positive, sharing people’s great work and achievements.
“We have so much to celebrate in Preston, our young people are fantastic and there are so many creative people living and working in the city. I’m looking forward to documenting the city more as it changes and develops.”
