A Lostock Hall author has published the second tale in a series of books about werewolves in Lancashire.
Jeanette Greaves wrote Ransomed Hearts as the follow-up to her first book, Fight for the Future.
Jeanette started writing stories about a family of werewolves in the early 2000s, but had to wait years to see her dream of being published come to fruition.

Jeanette, who lives with her husband Adrian and their two cats, said: “The first book, which would become the basis for Ransomed Hearts, was quickly accepted for publication by a small press.
“Unfortunately, staff changes there led to it being dropped. After a decade or so I decided to publish the Ransomed Hearts books myself.”
This decision led to Fight for the Future being released in February 2021. Set in the 1960s, it follows the story of two young outsiders, Antony and Tomas.
Ransomed Hearts, which came out in August this year, jumps forward a couple of decades to the 1980s and 1990s.
Now a part-time fundraising volunteer for a local cat rescue, Jeanette has previously held a range of jobs from boiling up pigs heads for pet food to working as Environmental Manager for a household name toilet paper brand. Most recently she was Admissions Tutor at Runshaw College in Leyland.
Describing her books, Jeanette said: “The stories are science fiction, action, and romance all bundled together.”
Jeanette will be at Penwortham Community Library in Priory Lane on Tuesday 18 October from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. She will read from the books, sell and sign them, and answer questions from readers. Refreshments will be available.
