The ‘UK’s third most haunted property’ Hoghton Tower has invited brave visitors to experience one of its annual Halloween ghost tours.
Hoghton Tower, a 16th-century house near Preston, has offered visitors a chance to see ghostly goings-on from Friday, 28 October, until Saturday, 12 November. Doors open at 5.30pm, and food is served at 6pm, followed by the ghost tour, which finishes around 9pm.
The tour is aimed at adults and is not suitable for anyone under 16. At least one person should be over 21, and the two-course meal is in the £35 tour package.

Ghost hunters will ascend the one-mile driveway before silent torchbearers take them through the darkened halls of the tower. Guests may encounter spectres from the past as they learn about haunted happenings that have occurred across the centuries.
Visitors will venture through underground passages where ‘footsteps from another time’ are said to echo, with a black dog reportedly haunting the Well House.
Guests will greet Angry Peter and stare into a painting where mysterious faces are said to reveal themselves before grasping the opportunity to reflect on what they have seen and heard.
