A body has been found at the scene of the fire at St David’s Church.
Police are appealing for information after the sad discovery was made during a search of the derelict building in Eldon Street.
The huge blaze happened in the early hours of Thursday (27 October).
In the wake of the fire, local shopkeeper Nimesh Patel told Blog Preston he believed people had been living in the building.

An investigation has been launched to identify the deceased, and a Home Office post-mortem examination will try to establish a cause of death.
The cause of the fire also remains under investigation.
A Preston Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing to anyone who has any information that could help us identify the deceased person, or who has any information about the fire itself, to come forward and contact us.
“Has someone you know not been seen or heard of since Thursday? Do you have concerns for someone who may have been sleeping in that area? Please do get in touch.”
