Preston band County Pilots are set to headline a gig at Penwortham Arts Centre this weekend.
Speaking to Blog Preston, the band said they want to put some life into the local music scene.
“After playing the local circuit in 2022, we have turned our attention to getting the people of Preston back into watching live bands.
“Unlike Manchester and Liverpool, Preston’s malnourished music scene has been in need of a new lease of life and we are hoping we can be the spark to trigger that.”

They describe their self-organised Penwortham gig as their ‘first step’ in this journey.
“Being a council-owned property, our event will not only be giving back to our home town financially, but will offer local people a chance to experience the energy of live rock n roll.
“Our music is inspired by the 1960s, which really separates us out from other bands on the scene at the moment.
“Despite being a fairly new group, we have had a flying head start.
“We hope that the passion for what we do resonates through Preston and kickstarts what will be a thriving music scene.”
