A man walked across Hadrian’s Wall with a group of former university friends to raise money for the charity supporting his mum.
42-year-old Richie Syrett from Penwortham, took five and a half days to complete the walk for Rosemere Cancer Foundation and raised £1,710 for the charity.
Including detours for bed and breakfast stops, Richie walked 125 miles with his friend Damien O’Neil, and he was joined by friends Tim Kief and Dan Hill for the last couple of days.

Richie’s mum Susan Syrett, of Penwortham, is being treated for lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the body’s germ-fighting lymphatic system.
Susan was initially diagnosed in 2018 and following treatment went into remission. She was told the disease had returned last year.
Richie said: “I am humbled by the donations and support I have received for my walk. Warmest thanks to everyone.”
