A Preston resident has organised a charity ‘Glitter Ball’ with a DJ and a three-course meal at a local hotel to raise funds for MIND.
On Friday 9 September, Preston’s Carly Keighley will host the event at Barton Manor Hotel, with guests invited to participate in a raffle and party games to benefit MIND, a charity close to Carly’s heart.
Tickets are £40 (or £37.50 if booking a table of 8-10), with an auction ‘purposely not planned’ so that guests do not feel pressured to spend large amounts amid the cost of living crisis.

Carly said: “I’ve planned it as a big night out with a DJ and festival-style face glitter. I think we all deserve a brilliant night out after the last two and a half years.
“I would love to sell more tickets to make it an even bigger (hopefully annual) event to raise more money for such a needed charity.”
Guests must register by Monday 5 September, and Lancashire Life will also be in attendance to snap photos of the ball.

Carly is also ‘jogging, walking and hobbling’ the Great North Run on Sunday 11 September to raise funds for the charity.
Carly said: “I say hobbling as I accidentally dropped a bookcase on my foot six weeks ago, damaging my ligaments, which brought the training to a halt.”
