As part of the National Heritage Open Days programme, Preston Masonic Hall will be open to the public on Saturday, 10th September 2022.
The building will be open from 10am to 3:30pm with Masons available for guided tours and answer questions.
The building was originally acquired by the Freemasons in 1944 when it was the disused Saul Street Primitive Methodist Chapel and it was converted into a Masonic Hall, and then extensively remodelled in the late 1950s. However, the old school building is still in use.

There are many items of historical interest to see in and around the Hall. Furniture from the mid-1800s is still in use to this day.
Original tipping chairs from the 1940s are used in one of the Rooms while another was specifically furnished in the late 1950s by local craftsmen. The Hall is truly a Living Museum.
There will be a special non masonic feature on the day. The large Art Deco Ballroom is being turned over to some of our amazing local photographers. Their work is seen on a daily basis on social media.

This is a great opportunity to meet them in person and see their work printed rather than on screen.
The Hall will be honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Preston who will open the event at 10.00am. He will then enjoy a guided tour of the building as well as meeting the local photographers.
A licensed bar will be open serving drinks, light lunches and snacks throughout the day.
