Police treating death of Ribbleton baby boy as unexplained

A five-month-old baby boy found by police in a house in Ribbleton on Wednesday has passed away.

On Wednesday, 3 August, North West Ambulance Service called Lancashire Police, who attended the scene in Garsdale Road, Ribbleton, at 12.18pm.

They had received reports that a five-month-old baby boy had been found unresponsive.

Lancashire Constabulary said: “Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing.”

Emergency services took the baby to Royal Preston Hospital, but he sadly died later that day.
