Police last night detained two males after discovering a hunting-style knife and ‘meat claws’ during a weapons search.

Last night (Thursday, 25 August), a Preston Police weapons task force discovered two males on Garstang Road, which spans Fulwood and Plungington, who attempted to hide in an alleyway.

Police soon found the pair, seized the weapons and detained them in custody, where they are currently awaiting interviews.

In a Facebook post, Preston Police said: “Tonight, Preston Taskforce have been out and about targeting those who think it’s acceptable to carry weapons in our city.

“The team soon found two likely characters on Garstang Road. Although the pair tried their best to hide in a back alleyway, they failed miserably.

“The team detained both males for a search, and the pair were found in possession of a hunting-style knife and this nasty-looking set of meat claws (he is not a butcher or BBQ enthusiast).

“Both were arrested and are now tucked up in custody awaiting an interview.”
