Police appeal for witnesses after man dies in Chorley park

Police have appealed for witnesses after a man died in an incident at a lake in Yarrow Valley Country Park.

Police attended the scene in the Chorley park around 2.10pm yesterday (Monday, 1 August) after receiving a report that a man had entered the water and got into difficulties.

Emergency services attended, and they recovered the body of a 26-year-man from the water following a search of the lake.

Chorley Police said they had informed his next of kin, and their thoughts are with his family.

They said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and they are preparing a file for the coroner.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area that might have information.
