A public inquiry into proposed plans for a mosque on D’Urton Lane will open tomorrow via livestream.
The Secretary of State directed (under his powers in Section 77 of the Town and County Planning Act 1990) that the application is referred to him instead of the local planning authority.
The inquiry will open tomorrow, Tuesday, 2 August, at 10am, as directed by the Secretary of State, with the six-day session available via a livestream.

The government called in the planning application after Preston City Council approved it in early February.
Broughton Parish Council strongly objected to the application and welcomed the news that the government would make the final decision.
The application seeks approval for appearance, layout, scale and access from D’Urton Lane for one new place of worship and associated parking facilities (all other matters reserved) at land south of D’Urton Lane, in Broughton, Preston.
