Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault on a man in his Preston home.
Officers were called at around 3.45am on Wednesday (27 July) to an address in Beech Terrace.
A man in his 40s was found with a number of serious injuries to his head, chest and upper body. The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
Following enquiries, police arrested the men, both aged 30 and from Preston, in connection with the attack.
Detectives are appealing for information and are keen to speak to anyone who can assist their enquiries.

Det Ch Insp Zoe Russo, of Lancashire Police, said: “This was a shocking and brutal attack where a man has been seriously assaulted inside his own home.
“He has been left with some horrendous injuries and will require significant medical treatment.
“We have made two arrests but would encourage anyone who can help with our investigation to get in touch.
“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the Beech Terrace area around the time of the attack? You may be able to help us.
“At this stage we are treating the offence as a targeted attack, however, we want to reassure residents and patrols have been increased.”
