Preston Council has changed next week’s bin collection times to 6am to support refuse collectors during the hot weather.
AdvertisementOn Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 July only, Preston Council will change the bin collections to the earlier time of 6am to reflect the cooler temperatures at the start of the day.

They said residents should put their bins out ready for 6am, but it is okay to leave them out overnight if they wish, as many collections will occur significantly earlier than usual.
With possible record temperatures affecting the country, the council said they are keen to ensure drivers and refuse collectors are as weather safe as possible.

They will also provide the crews with cold drinks.
