A quiz held at Preston’s Adelphi pub has raised £478 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
AdvertisementIt was organised by Holly Egan, president of Preston Oncology Society, a group of third-year Manchester University medical students on placement at the Royal Preston Hospital.
They all share an interest in cancer and its treatment.

Society members also raised £103 for the charity during a revision time bake sale in the hospital’s education centre before the summer exams and £156 via a Christmas card competition and card sale.
Some joined the university’s Wilderness Medicine Society, a student medics’ walking group, to join Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s annual fundraising Cross Bay Walk over the sands of Morecambe Bay last month.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation provides cancer treatments and services to patients throughout Lancashire treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre.

The centre is Lancashire and South Cumbria’s specialist regional cancer treatment and radiotherapy centre at the Royal Preston Hospital.
The charity funds items beyond NHS means, such as equipment, clinical research, staff training and services to make treatment more effective, comfortable and stress-free.
