A man has been arrested after he was found to be in possession of a large machete style knife in Preston city centre.

Officers from Preston Taskforce responded to reports of the man being detained by door staff yesterday (Saturday 2 July).

After the knife was discovered, the man was arrested at the scene.

A Preston Police spokesperson said: “The male is spending his Sunday hangover in our B and B.

“Preston Taskforce will continue to target those who think it’s acceptable to carry weapons in Preston.
