Preston residents are preparing themselves for a hot spell after The Met Office issued an amber ‘extreme heat’ warning for later this weekend and the beginning of next week.
The Met Office said the heatwave is likely to develop from Sunday, peaking early next week between Sunday, 17, and Tuesday, 19 July, with ‘exceptionally high temperatures’ possible during both day and night and the NHS urging residents to stay safe.
The heatwave will affect much of the UK, with a Monday red ‘extreme heat’ warning falling just short of Preston.
