The Rotary Club of Preston Guild will this October hold 5 and 10k races along the new Western Distributor Road to mark its opening.
The club organised the run along the Penwortham Bypass in 2019, raising over £8000, all donated to good causes, including Gift92, CRY and Preston Blind Bowing Club.
The run is scheduled for Saturday, 29 October, and will include a 5 and 10K, with 20 per cent of the places already snapped up.

Penwortham Bypass Run 2019 Rotarian and avid runner Neil Fletcher said: “You’re not going to run down this stretch of road ever again, and we expect some fast times on the excellent surface.
“We are grateful to Costain and LCC for their enthusiastic support in making the event possible.
“Their help is much appreciated, and all is looking good for a memorable occasion.”

Each runner will receive a commemorative medal and t-shirt.
Neil said: “Whilst we expect most entrants will be regular runners, we have many people running and raising funds for their favourite charity, and we hope the total raised will be substantial.”
The Rotary Club of Preston Guild was formed in 1992.
