The popular Indian street food chain will launch in what used to be French Connection on Monday 11 July.
The booking announcement on social media elicited excited responses from locals.
On Twitter, Angela B said: “Never been as excited for opening night at a restaurant before!”
Leigh Altree said: “Cannot wait. Already got two bookings for July.”
PetersJ posted a Kermit the Frog GIF and added: “Can’t wait. I got vouchers for my birthday in February so it’s been a bit of a wait. Roll on 11th.”
The chain’s Instagram followers had a similar reaction, with many saying they had already made reservations at the new city centre eatery.
Mowgli’s owner, Lancashire-born Nisha Katona, announced in September that the chain would be coming to Preston despite a previous plan to open in St George’s Shopping Centre falling through.
In January plans were lodged with Preston City Council to change the outside of the Grade II listed property.
