A planning application has been submitted for the demolition of China House at 288 Aqueduct Street in Ashton-on-Ribble.
The building – previously the Lime Kiln pub – is currently unoccupied and is in a poor state of repair due to anti-social behaviour and vandalism which has taken place at the property.
The intention is to redevelop the site with a new building and proposals for this will follow as part of a new planning application.
After the site is demolished, it will be levelled to match neighbouring land for a chance of future developments.

Plans say the demolition works will be undertaken by a suitably qualified and experienced demolition contractor. The spoil and rubble associated with the works will be recycled, where possible, to be reused in the construction industry.

The demolition statement on behalf of Kam Design, said: “This Statement accompanies a prior approval application for the demolition of the existing building at 288 Aqueduct Street.
“The application site has become a target for antisocial behaviour and as such the owners are planning to demolish the building to respond to these ongoing issues.
“The building has also recently been subject to fire damage and is considered to have become unsafe. Ultimately proposals will come forward for the site’s redevelopment.”
