RSPCA Preston and District Branch is holding a summer fair to raise funds to care for animals at its Ribbleton centre.
The fair at Longridge Civic Hall will be the charity’s first in-person event since the pandemic.
It will feature pet portrait photography, funfair rides, craft stalls, a bouncy castle, games, food, drinks, face painting and raffle prizes.

As an independent charity with its own trustees, RSPCA Preston and District Branch receives little to no funding from the national RSPCA, instead relying on public donations.
Branch Administrator Tanya Barrett said: “I think we’ve smashed it in terms of booking excellent stalls, entertainment and food, and we’ve had prizes donated from local businesses.
“Our hope is the fair will raise much-needed funds for animals just like Staffordshire Bull Terrier Skye – she has been up for adoption for a while and we would love to rehome her.
“She came to us in February 2021 as part of a case investigation with eight other dogs. The RSPCA finally won the case and prosecuted the owner earlier this year, and we have rehomed all the other dogs from the case except poor Skye.”
The event is one of a number happening simultaneously across the country to support the RSPCA’s network of branches, animal centres and all of the animals in their care.

Events manager Jo Hockley said: “Our branches and centres have pulled out the stops this year and we are delighted that more than 40 will be hosting One Fun Day events.
“All our One Fun Day events are designed for us to celebrate being One RSPCA – bringing together our amazing family of branches, centres, shops and others – and raise valuable funds to directly help animals in your local area.”
The summer fair will take place on Saturday 18 June from 10am to 4pm at Longridge Civic Hall. Entry is ÂŁ2 for adults and ÂŁ1 for children. Follow the Facebook event for more information.
