A Preston woman is giving back to a women’s charity by going on a dog walking fundraiser.
AdvertisementLancashire Women is a charity working alongside women to support and enable them to feel confident in who they are and feel they can transform their lives and achieve their potential.
Michelle Eccles received support for herself and son Jayden from the charity and has expressed she wouldn’t be where she is now, doing a health and social care course at college, living independently and having her own income without the support system.
She said: “They saved my life basically when I was in darkest times, they built me back up got me involved in life skills, provided me with technology to access groups.

“They provided me with financial support and supported getting involved with the gateway community engagement team.”
Michelle has started the fundraiser to play a role in helping out, as the charity is using other people’s businesses to run sessions because they lost their Preston-based building due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Once the donations come through £25 is said to go towards paying for a volunteer to run drop in craft group, £50 would pay for one of the regulated money advisors to help people with budget planning, £100 would help Lancashire Women answer more calls for when people need to contact them, and £250 would pay for Lancashire to offer people a safe confidential space to speak to a therapist.
Michelle said: “Lancashire women cared and believed in me they gave me something I never had in my life, care praise and love and they believed in me.
“They need so much help from the community so they can continue their mission.”
