Firefighters battle blaze at Preston city centre chippy

Four fire engines attended the blaze in Market Street Pic: Shane King

Firefighters have battled a blaze at Market Street Chippy in Preston city centre.

The fire happened on Monday (2 May).

Four fire engines from Fulwood, Penwortham and Preston attended the scene.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a dry powder extinguisher, fire blanket and a positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.

Crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance for just over two hours.
